Valentine's Weekend

It's that pink and red time of year again. To celebrate Valentine's Day I made a small quilt.

What do you enjoy most about Valentine's Day?

A few of you have asked me about the red rotary cutter that appeared in a recent photo. It's an ergonomic cutter that I purchased here.

I've only been using it for less than a year and while it took a little getting used to at first, I find that I really like it. Sometimes when I use my previous rotary cutter (which I save for cutting through paper), I find it awkward to go back to holding that style of cutter.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

  2. I'm a total curmudgeon about Valentine's Day....and most holidays for that matter. I love Memorial Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas - the food holidays - but the rest you can keep. We don't' do anything for Valentine's day but our anniversary (22 years) is next week.

  5. And, again, I love your work most when you go abstract! -- What I love most about Valentine this year is that it is the end of the rather unpleasant last month of the rather unpleasant year of the Ox (for 60 year old oxes, that is) and starts the Tiger.
What I love about Valentine in general: I have a reason to go out and dine with my love.

  6. While you're talking about rotary cutters, let me put in a pitch for my new Gingher - it's a totally different way to hold a cutter; in a few days, I can feel a big difference in my sore shoulders.

and no, I have no tie-in with Gingher. *S*....It's just another choice.

  11. I've been using mine for about 5 years and think it's the best invention to come down the pike for a quilter/crafter since duct tape, white out, and bungee cords!

  16. Love your quilt. I can't believe that heart isn't 3-D! Valentines Day is not big at my house but I do enjoy getting chocolates.

  17. That little heart is awfully sweet.

I don't like the mainstream stuff but I am happy to be married. V-Day sucks for those who are not happily coupled up! (I do remember...)

  18. Gorgeous heart quilt! I love the scrappy edges.

I'm not so big into most of the holidays either but I enjoyed that my husband cooked me dinner Saturday night and it was a good excuse to buy him some special coffee and chocolate.
