Class Sample

The above photo is another sample from my Faces on Fabric online class. The class started this week. I will take registrations up through Sunday and then I'll close registrations for this class. I will be offering it again, although I don't have a date set just yet. It will probably run again around May or June. If you would like to read more information on this class, go here.

I have another class starting next week on March 2. It's Daisy Doodles Quilted Wall Hanging. You can read more here.

Sue has a class that starts tomorrow, Feb 27. Creative Box Making for the Fiber Artist. Learn how to make some fabulous boxes, that you can use for gift giving, decorations, and great looking storage. See more here.

Also, Susan Sorrell had a class that started this week and I'm betting you could still sign up for it within the next day or two. The class is Creative Embroidery - Organic Designs. Read more here.

On the Wall

Hubby and I finally got the wall hanging up in the bathroom this weekend. I think it looks fantastic and am so happy with it. Now I have the opposite wall to decorate and I'm thinking a quilted wall hanging for there.

Also this weekend, I got this quilt all pieced together. Now I'm contemplating if I want a border or no border. If I go with a border, I'm thinking it will be in the black fabrics. If I go with no border, I may put a black binding on it. Hmmm, decisions, decisions!

Me Weekend

Starting on Friday, I decided I would have a 3-day Me Weekend. What's a Me Weekend? Well it's a weekend when I create stuff just for me or whatever I want. It has felt really good to do this. Lately I feel like I've been creating to deadlines and commitments and I really needed a break. I'll get back on track tomorrow.

So first up is a small quilt I'm making. A few years ago I had been in the hand dying fabric groove and dyed up a ton of fabric. A lot of it still sits on my shelves and these colors were all in one stack. They were calling to me. "Make us into a quilt", they said. So I listened. I'm creating this without a pattern and just cutting loose. I think there's a book or something on this. Anyway, it's very freeing and I'm having fun with it. As you can see it's a WIP.

The next photo is a gallery wrapped canvas that I've covered with paper. One of my all-time favorite paper artists who works in this type of way is Julie King. I just love her work. She was my inspiration for this piece.

I created this piece with a specific spot in mind where it will hang. My hubby and I have been doing some minor remodeling in a couple of rooms in our house. One being the bathroom. It has a whole new color scheme, the towels are terra cotta, the walls are Sweet Tangerine. I plan to hang this over the toilet. I'll show another photo once it's hanging in it's permanent home.

And that concludes this edition of Me Weekend. Have a great week!

Hand Quilting Progress

Well I finally have gotten the nine squares quilted with the same amount of circular rings.

Here is one square with all the rings.

I still have the border, sashing, and corners of each square to quilt yet. I was kind of thinking about more circular rings that would join four blocks at their corners....but I'm not sure about that yet.

Thanks to everyone who has written about swapping ATCs (previous post). If any of you are wondering, I still have some left. So if you want to swap, be sure to write. It doesn't have to be a Valentine specific ATC and it can be made out of any type of media.

Valentine ATCs

I spent my day today making these ATCs (artist trading cards). They are made with my paper quilting method. Don't they look Valentineeeeee?

Would you like to swap a Valentine ATC with me? If you would, email your name and address (you can find my email info in my profile over on the side bar). If you have a color preference between the two groups, please let me know and if it works I'll send you that color.
