Yikes!

It has been almost two weeks since my last post.  During that time I have been busy getting ready for a quilt show.  No, not the big quilt show in Houston that is going on this week/weekend, but the small quilt show in Bismarck, North Dakota.  I am teaching two full-day classes Saturday and Sunday and have been very busy getting ready for it.  If you are in the area and want to stop by, you should.  There are many quilts to see and some quilt shop vendors will be there with many enticing things to buy.

I also entered four quilts into the quilt show and found out from a friend this evening that I have placed first with a couple of them.  I'm so excited to see!

I hate writing a blog post and not having any photos to share...sooooo....this is a painting that I did about two weeks ago which still needs to be sealed.

The painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas that measures 8" x 8", I think.  I am going by memory here.  I can't even begin to tell you how many layers of paint this canvas might have on it.  It's one of those that I would try something new and if I didn't like the results, I'd paint over it with something different.  I think this time I will finally leave it as it is.  I just need to get a sealer on it...hopefully next week.

Today I was feeling a little bit like stitching but with so many things from my studio packed up for the quilt show, I wasn't sure what I would do.  So I found some batting scraps and some fabric scraps and starting arranging them into a little quilt.

And then I started hand stitching all the fabric with a running stitch.

I think I'm about 70% done with the hand stitching.

At this point, I don't know what this will turn into, if anything, but it was therapeutic in that it gave me something creative to do with my hands for a while.

Oh, we finally got some snow.  It's looking white out there tonight.  Happy weekend!
