Remember the journal spread I showed you in yesterday's post? Well I've now finished it.

This journal is a re-purposed music/song book that I found at my local thrift store.
Every time I work in my journal, I find that I enjoy it a little bit more and more. I'm hoping I get to the point where I can do some journal art almost every day. I won't hold my breath though as I know how I am.
The pages of this re-purposed music/song book have some simple illustrations printed on them and this particular spread had some trees, clouds, and a smiley-faced sunshine.
As I was putting the finishing touches on it I thought about the scene before me and suddenly a little poem popped out of me.

Oh, and look who made an appearance while I was finishing up my journal page. Yes, that's dear Abby! I call her the inspector. While she has sniffed that water container a billion times, and knows that it is not for her, she insists on checking it and everything else out......again.
Today I'm hoping to finish up the free-motion quilting on the quilt I shared in yesterday's post. Maybe I'll have something to show you on the weekend. Happy Friday!

It's wonderful Terri, and I love your little poem!
ReplyDeleteAbby looks like she is the same kind of "helper" as Bouree!
Really fine work.
ReplyDeleteSpectacular Terri! I love those colors, and the poem is very cool!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Abby thinks that one of these days her favorite beverage or food will be the bowl.
D~~~~
It's beautiful Terri. What are you using for colours? Pan pastels perhaps? You're lucky your 'inspector' just looks. Mine will drink from any water container I have out so I have to watch her like a hawk! :0)
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of working over a re-purposed song book - great idea! And lovely work.
ReplyDeletehappy Friday! I sure like your poem, and the flower, too! Nice. EnJOY!

ReplyDeletewow is all i can say!
ReplyDeleteLove your journal page. I'm new to art journaling this year. It's my challenge for the year to learn something new. I'm in a learning curve when it comes to freehand drawing but I'll get there someday.
ReplyDeleteLove the final reault. You always add just the right amount to bring it to life.
ReplyDeleteFunny cat you have. I get what you mean about not having to watch tv.
