Kitty Cat Pouch

I found some more hand painted fabric scraps that had been around for a couple of years or so, and thought about how I could create them into something.  There was just enough there to make a zipper pouch.  I looked through my stash of zippers and found one in the right colors and size.

I added the hand painted cat after I had the outer fabric quilted, but before constructing the pouch.

I'm not happy with how the bottom of the pouch turned out.  I had a heavy fabric stitched there (more scraps) and it doesn't want to play nice.  It wants to buckle in the middle where the seam is and not sit flat.  Oh well...lesson learned.

  2. Gorgeous! I can't see any flaw, but if you're gonna work yourself over about it, what if you ran a quick seam up each side of the centre-bottom seam, about 1/2" out from the seamline to "force" the heavier fabric to play nicely with others.....love the pouch. Can't imagine it could look any cuter!

  4. This is the happiest little pouch. Your hand painted cats are just the cutest ever. I say put your inner critic outside to pull weeds and let you and your creative muse have fun! Smiles...

  5. well I can not see anything wrong with this adorable little bag either.....besides once it is filled with wonderful things that "buckle" you seem to be concerned about will simply be forced to disappear!

  9. I love to use fabrics from deconstructive screen printing for pouches. I posted some photos(somewhere) on my blog...I'm thinking about making some for a craft fair this fall. I do love your kitties Terri! I like the one in the post above this too...it's really sweet (like you!).
