Poppies are Popping Up

Here is my latest progress on this quilt.  Next up....borders.

So we had snow here yesterday.  Can you believe it?  There was no accumulation, but you could see areas of white in the green grass.  It isn't even officially fall yet, and we had a snow fall. Sheesh!  Weird weather.  It's all gone now as today the sun is shining.  We did get to freezing temps last night, the first of the season.  My bird baths all had a layer of ice on the top.  I think it may be time to pick the apples.

Happy weekend!

  1. First off....I love this with the poppies on it! So graphic and perfect with the background.

Secondly....Ice on the birdbaths! Oh no! I am still not ready for cold weather and having to take the time to put jackets hats scarves and mittens on each time you leave the house. We are warm today but tonight we are supposed to drop and then in the low 60's for a few days and then up in the 80's mid week. My closet is still a mix of summer/fall/winter just in case.

  3. I love the poppies on the gradient fabric -- the red looks so rich on that background.

Not ready for winter here -- but it's coming. I think that fall must be the shortest season in the Midwest.

  9. The weather has been strange everywhere this year. We have had fog most of the summer. Can't wait to see what our winter brings. It's just wrong to snow in September!
