Paintings in Progress

Here is the latest progress on the two painting classes I'm taking. First up is step 3 of the mixed media landscape class taught by Karyn Gartel. This week we added color to our hills and defined them with a dark edge.

Next is the progress on the face painting class taught by Paulette Insall. This week we added more shading and highlights and added more layers to the lips to give them dimension. I need to figure out what my girl is looking up at. Any ideas?

And I just added a post over on the Twelve by Twelve blog about my progress on the next theme quilt. The next theme is 'water' and we have until June 1 to get it done.

  1. Great stuff Terri! Can't wait to see what you do with that water theme.

  2. It's been so interesting to see the progress of these two paintings. I can't wait to see the finished result. I think your girl looks more contemplative than really looking up at anything.

  3. I love your work ! These are just wonderful!

  4. Your girl looks like she is thinking. It seems almost a shame to add anything else to the picture although I understand that this is the exercise and there is lots of space to add something...

  5. I think your girl is pondering "what's next?" "I have authored a book and am pursuing my art...what's next?"

  6. Hi Teri!
Great work. She appears to me as I imagine my own expression when I am studying a piece of artwork.

  7. Great work Terri. It is lovely to see them all progress.
She looks very whistful that young lady maybe a little bird is telling her something?

I enjoy getting your comments. Thanks so much for leaving one.
