Dish Rag Update

Well I've got 3 sets done. I discovered yesterday that I had forgot a person when calculating how many to make and now I need 9 sets (18 total). Ugh! Here's what I've got completed so far:

I need input from all of you.....I'm looking for an alternative name for "dish rag" or "dish cloth". I am planning to put a paper label around each set and want to give them a creative/different name. Okay, I'm off to do more knitting.

  1. You should ask Francoise to give you a nice exotic french name! They look really lovely and I am sure they will be well received.

  4. They will be wonderful presents. What about "DishArt"?

  5. My aunt knitted me some lovely ones and I could not bear to put them in dish water. They also worked as lovely bath wash clothes and I used them for the longest time and then after a while they were sent to the kitchen. Maybe you could wrap them around some pretty homemade soap instead of the kitchen area. How about "Steg-A-Wash" for a name? Boy, I'm silly tonight.

  6. Kitchen Kleanups?
I especially like the green varigated one. Where'd you get that lovely yarn?

  7. I love them! And I agree, you do need another name for them. I'm just not creative enough to come up with one.

  8. These will be great for the recipients. Piatto is Italian for plate. Dish cloth would be panno del piatto. Sounds so much more elegant! But maybe you could call them Piatto Cloths. =)

Mind if I ask where you found the pattern? Please share. Do you use 100 percent cotton thread? What brand?

Really like the previous ideas, especially the bath idea!

  10. Diane...I bought most of my yarn from Hobby Lobby. They had a large selection of colors.
