A Whirl Wind

This summer has been such a whirl wind of activity. For the past month and a half I've been focused mainly on creating and preparing designs for an upcoming show. The show, Printsource, will be held August 12 and 13 and I will have several designs there. My work will be shown by Brenda Manley Designs. I'm so excited to be a part of this and the experience has been fabulous. I feel like I've learned so much just from preparing for this show. You may remember me mentioning here on the blog at some point that it is my dream to see my designs printed on products....such as fabric, textiles, home decor products, etc. I have no idea what outcome to expect from the show, but I know whatever happens, I am grateful for the opportunity.

Something else that I have coming up is a trip to Portland, Oregon. I am flying out there on the same day that the Printsource show starts and will be attending Quilt! Knit! Stitch!. I'm so excited to go. I'm staying with my Auntie Jude, who is like the big sister I never had. We have so much fun together. Are you going to the show?

Besides designing for Printsource, I have done a few other creative things, just to keep my hands busy. I sewed myself three new tops.  The middle top shown is made from a fabric I had printed at Spoonflower. Out of the three tops, though, the middle top is my problematic one. I struggled with the neckband on it and it still doesn't lay nice and flat. I think I will have to take it apart, yet again, and see if I can get a more satisfying result. Sigh!!!

I also created this handbag....in lovely fall/autumn colors.

And here are a couple of small quilt tops ready to proceed to the next step...sandwiching and quilting.

I want to take a moment to thank all of you who have stopped by my blog the past few weeks. I haven't been good about acknowledging those who have left wonderful comments. I do appreciate all comments and visits and hope to see and hear from you again.
