The Del Thomas Gallery

If you are a regular follower of my blog, you might remember this quilt.  I made/donated it for the 2011 SAQA auction.  The quilt was purchased by the Thomas Contemporary Quilt Collection.  Del Thomas is one of the biggest supporters of art quilting that I know. Visions Art Museum in San Diego, CA recently named a new gallery after Del.  The Del Thomas Gallery celebrated its opening on February 3.

I was totally thrilled to learn recently that the quilt A Little Birdie Told Me was to be included in the special exhibit at Del's gallery opening, Selections From The Thomas Contemporary Quilt Collection.  The exhibit, which includes forty 12" x 12" quilts from Del's collection, is going to run from February 3 to April 22.  If you are in the area or planning to be going that direction, please stop by the museum and check out the exhibit.

This next quilt is one I made a few months ago but didn't share here yet.  I made this quilt as a gift for Del.  She very generously sponsored the Twelve by Twelve exhibit at IQF Houston 2011, IQF Cincinnati 2012 and IQF Long Beach 2012. Del blogged about the quilt here.

Thank you Del for all you do for art quilting. Congratulations on The Del Thomas Gallery.
