Finally! Rylee is Rockin'

I devoted today to working on my quilt of Rylee. It was sitting in limbo for just too long. Although, to be honest, I was contemplating colors and placement for such colors. I think I am done painting this but will look at it for a day or so and see if anything needs tweaking.

The original photo of Rylee was taken at Christmas by my mother. You can see by comparing that I used artistic license with what I included in the quilt design and what I created with my imagination. I didn't want the quilt to "look" like Christmas but I did add the words to identify the time frame.

The Raggedy Ann doll and the wooden rocking chair were both mine when I was a child. While I'm happy overall with how the quilt has turned out, I know there are areas that I do not like, but it's impossible to change them at this point. I still need to add a binding around the edges. It measures 25" x 32".

I'm linking to Off The Wall Friday and Paint Party Friday. Both sites share what others have been working on throughout the week, one paint related and one fiber art related.

Hope you all are having a Happy Friday!
